Kano state Governor Umar Ganduje release's 300inmates on lesser charges


As parts of effort to curtail the spread of the covld-19 virus Kano state government have complied with the directive of the federal government to decongest prisons.


Kano state governor Storm Gordon Dutse correctional Center on sallah day  to facilitate the release of 300 inmates on lesser charges himself accompanied with some officials of the Kano state government.

The visit was brazed with some cultural performance, the dancers were spotted wearing facemask in compliance to the guideline issued by health workers. The governor took to his micro blogging platform twitter to disclose his information.

In line with the Federal Government’s directive to decongest prisons, I visited the Goron Dutse Correctional Facility with@DGawuna 300 inmates on lesser charges were freed with their fines paid up by the state. The idea is to reduce the population to avoid a viral outbreak.





The decongestion is going to help in reducing the numbers of people locked for lesser Cases in the state.
