Essential workers harassments by security agents-Inspector-General of Police react,


The inspector-Geneal of police Mohammad Adamu have reacted to the allege harassments of some essential workers through its force spokenman DCP Frank Mba.

The allege harassments which was made by journalist, Medical Personal and other essential of workers, who are not included from the restrictions of movement and curfew across the country. This made the Nigeria Medical Association to call on its members to down tools.

The inspector general of police has ordered member of the police to respect journalist,medical personal and other essential workers who are not restricted from movement during curfew and lockdown




Force spokesman DCP Frank Mba, disclosed in a statement on Wednesday, saying that the  IGP had directed Zonal Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and State Command Commissioners of Police to give maximum effect to these orders and extend due courtesies to essential service providers so affected and also ensure that personnel deployed for the enforcement duties respect the fundamental rights of the citizens.


Mba stated: “The Force wishes to state that it is not oblivious of the sensitive, indispensable, patriotic and frontline role of the nation’s workforce that falls within the category of ‘Essential Service Providers’ particularly as it relates to efforts to curtail and contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
