Government must extend thier focus and attention beyound the poor of the poorest.- Sen Dino Melaye said in a post he wrote on his social media handle he said that, Federal government to show that they care and are passionate about the poor and middle class

He wrote :

"Fellow citizens as i advocate for the poor and vulnerable in our society during this lockdown.

Government must extend thier focus and attention beyond the poor of the poorest. It is not just the people that live hand to mouth. There is a need for
Government to get funding to the SMEs that have their businesses shut down and employ 5, 10, 20people.

They are not earning any revenue and still have their fixed costs going out and can’t pay or support their staff. They are now thinking of laying off staff and that will exacerbate the dire economic
situation post lockdown. We don’t need anymore unemployed people where the unemployment rate is already at 30%. It is time for Federal government to show that they care and are passionate about the poor and middle class

The federal govenment has said that Only one million households entitled to N20,000 coronavirus stimulus fund the government stated that it is made for the poorest and vulnerable households


President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that N20,000 be paid to each vulnerable household through the social investment scheme to cushion the impact of the lockdown.

The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had, however, disclosed that N60 billion had been disbursed to 2.5 million households within two days of the kick-off of the disbursements.

Apera disclosed that the government was using the register to reach the poor with the cash transfer.


The lockdown have seen states like lagos suffer under the hands of Hoodlums Terrorising the state
